This Pennsburg yard dealt with ongoing drainage concerns, which resulted in standing water and widespread impact on the property’s landscaping.Excavation marks the first step in defining the route of the new dry creek bed. This carefully planned path will help redirect water, reduce pooling, and enhance the overall functionality of the property.Once excavation is complete, geotextile fabric is installed to keep surrounding soil in place, followed by drainage piping that channels water efficiently through the new system.Small gravel is added over the drainage fabric and pipe to protect the system, improve water flow, and create a stable base for the larger stones of the dry creek bed. This layer ensures proper drainage while keeping the structure durable and long-lasting.The finished dry creek bed runs alongside the sidewalk, creating a seamless transition while showcasing the new drainage system.The dry creek bed is complete! The larger stones placed on top not only create a natural, visually appealing feature but also help guide water flow, reduce erosion, and keep the smaller gravel and drainage system in place for long-lasting stability.
