Dry Creek Bed

This property began with erosion along the tree line and a slight slope in the backyard that contributed to drainage concerns. With the addition of a dry creek bed and underground drainage pipe, the property will have improved water management and better protection against future erosion. The new drainage system also adds a unique and beautiful landscape feature that blends naturally into the surrounding property.

Areas along the edge of the property near the tree line were beginning to show signs of erosion due to poor drainage. This area will be addressed as part of the upcoming site work to improve drainage and create a more efficient system.

The white line marks the area where an underground drainage pipe will be installed along the side of the house. This system will connect to the dry creek bed planned for the back of the property, helping collect surface water and direct it safely away from the home.

Excavation of the property is underway! A trench is being dug along the side of the house for an underground drainage pipe, creating a discreet and efficient system to collect and redirect water away from the home.

The underground drainage pipe is added along the side of the property. The pipe extends toward the end of the planned dry creek bed, creating a continuous drainage system that will help move water safely away from the home and property.

The dry creek bed is being installed! Positioned along a gentle slope on the property, the creek bed creates a natural path for collecting and directing surface runoff. The rocks help slow and distribute the flow of water, allowing it to filter down through the stone and geotextile fabric to the drainage pipe installed underneath. From there, the underground system carries the water safely away from the home.

Additional dirt is added over the underground pipe, and the area is carefully graded to create a slope that directs water away from the home. Once the grass grows back, the drainage system will blend seamlessly into the landscape, leaving little visible evidence of the work while making a significant difference in how water is managed around the property.
