The BedRock Difference

Comprehensive Planning

Our comprehensive approach begins with a thorough site and grading evaluation, ensuring critical factors like drainage, slope, and soil conditions are addressed before construction begins. This allows us to deliver a properly prepared site that’s ready for what’s next.

Lasting Quality & Durability

We prioritize robust construction and durable solutions, ensuring your investment provides lasting value and peace of mind from the ground up.

Expert Guidance

Shed foundation installation requires more than basic groundwork—it demands careful site assessment, proper drainage planning, and technical precision. Our team handles the complexities so you don't have to, delivering clear solutions and proactive planning that ensure your foundation is built to last.

End-to-End Responsibility

We handle everything from site prep to final shed pad installation. Choose the right foundation level for your needs—Basic, Standard, or Signature—and we'll ensure proper drainage, a level and stable base ready for your structure.

Vision to Reality

A well-built stone base pad is the difference between a structure that settles and shifts versus one that stays level and stable for years. We ensure your foundation is precisely prepared and installed, giving your shed the solid ground it deserves—so you can focus on how you'll use the space.

Proven Expertise

Since 2003, we've installed countless shed foundations and pads. We know drainage patterns, soil conditions, and what it takes to keep a foundation level and stable through seasons of settling and weather. That experience means your shed gets a foundation built right the first time.

Our Foundations and Pads

Gravel Pad Foundations

A solid foundation is essential to the long-term performance of any backyard structure, and BedRock Siteworks ensures your project is built on a dependable base from the start. Our gravel pad foundations provide a stable solution for sheds, garages, greenhouses, chicken coops, and more. We carefully evaluate site conditions, including overall yard slope, to determine the proper amount of regrading needed to achieve a level, secure foundation. Beyond precise grading, we also plan for effective stormwater management, directing water away from the pad to protect the structure and promote lasting durability. BedRock offers three different types of gravel pad foundations to meet the specific needs of your project.

Gravel Shed Pad Options

Signature gravel base foundation drawing

Signature Gravel Pad

The Signature Gravel Base Foundation is designed for strength, stability, and long-term performance. It features a defined perimeter constructed from 6” x 6” pressure-treated lumber, securely anchored with ½” x 24” steel rebar and GRK galvanized screws to create a solid, long-lasting frame. Geotextile fabric is installed to stabilize the stone base, promote proper drainage, and minimize weed growth. A specialized perimeter drainage system is incorporated, with a 3-inch trench and perforated pipe installed just inside the pad to capture roof runoff and direct water away from the foundation. This helps protect the underlying soil from moisture-related shifting and settling. As BedRock’s most durable gravel foundation option, the Signature Gravel Base Foundation is built to last and backed by a 10-year guarantee.

Standard gravel base foundation drawing

Standard Gravel Pad

The Standard Gravel Base Foundation features a defined perimeter constructed from 6” x 6” pressure-treated timber, securely anchored with ½” x 24” steel rebar and GRK galvanized screws to create a stable and reliable frame. Geotextile fabric is installed to help protect and stabilize the stone base, followed by 6 inches of stone to complete the foundation. Because this foundation does not include a dedicated drainage system, it may experience additional settling over time as water impacts the soil beneath the pad. The Standard Gravel Base Foundation is backed by a 5-year guarantee.

Shed Foundations

Basic Gravel Pad

The Basic Gravel Pad Foundation offers a cost-effective solution for creating a stable stone base. It utilizes an earthen berm to contain the drainage stone, providing a simple and functional perimeter. While this design delivers dependable support at a lower price point, it may be more susceptible to seasonal erosion and settling over time. This foundation option is well suited for wooded areas or locations where the structure will see minimal use.

Concrete Foundations

Concrete foundations deliver the strength and stability sheds and small structures need to last. Whether it’s a storage shed, backyard studio, or garden structure, a properly built concrete foundation keeps everything level, dry, and secure through years of use and weather. BedRock offers three concrete foundation options for sheds: Concrete Piers, Floating Slab, and Graduated Slab—each suited to different site conditions and budgets. We’ll help you choose the right foundation for your shed and property.

Our Concrete Shed Foundations

Floating slab concrete foundation

Floating Slab Foundation

The Floating Slab Foundation provides a reliable and efficient solution where frost-protected footings are not required. The process includes excavation, installation of a compacted gravel base for drainage, and the addition of rebar and concrete. The gravel base also acts as a vapor barrier and is incorporated to help control moisture, resulting in a clean, durable slab suitable for a variety of applications.

Graduated slab concrete foundation

Graduated Slab Foundation

The Graduated Slab Foundation features a thickened edge, typically 12” to 18”, to add strength and stability. After excavation, a 4” gravel base is installed to ensure proper drainage, followed by rebar reinforcement and the concrete pad. This foundation option is ideal for sheds and other similar structures where durability and performance are key.

Concrete pillars

Concrete Pier Foundation

Concrete Pier Foundations are designed to securely anchor large structures such as pole barns, large sheds and barndominiums. This method involves setting tube forms into excavated holes, reinforcing them with rebar, and filling them with concrete to create a strong, stable support system. Concrete piers are an excellent option for projects requiring elevated strength and structural support.
